Maternity Benefit Guide: Eligibility & Compensation Conditions under Social Insurance
Maternity benefit is one of the most important rights granted to working women, designed to foster a competitive and investment-friendly work environment. Social Insurance assumes the financial responsibility for this benefit, easing the operational burden on employers while ensuring the stability and security of insured female employees.

- Extension Cases: The compensation period is extended by one additional month (totaling 4 months) in cases where the newborn has a medical condition or disability.
- Eligible Beneficiaries: The benefit applies equally to both Saudi and non-Saudi female employees.
- Non-Combination Rule: By law, maternity benefit cannot be combined with the monthly salary paid by the employer for the same period.

- The compensation amount is calculated based on the average insured wage registered as a monthly contribution.
- The employee must be actively employed at the time of birth and must have a minimum contribution period of 12 months within the 36 months preceding the date of birth.
